Knit Purl Hunter's Audition MKAL
Michelle Hunter, the Knit Purl Hunter, is taking knitters on an adventure with her latest Mystery Knit-Along, Audition. This MKAL uses 1 cake of HiKoo's Simplicity Spray and two skeins of a coordinating color of HiKoo's Simplicity. The end product will be an asymmetrical triangle shawl, measuring approximately 16" deep by 67" long. The project is worked on a US7 needle with a gauge of approximately 20 stitches/41 rows over 4".
The first clue has just been released, and you can retrieve it by clicking here. A new clue will be released weekly over 4 weeks. Each skein of Crazy is made with Stonehedge Fiber Mill's mill-ends, each skein is one-of-a-kind and totally irresistible. While our knitters have made everything from hats and mitts to shawls and sweaters with it, right now they're having a ton of fun "shifting" with it, Andrea Mowry-Style. Mix it with a solid to make a Shiftalong hat, pick three skeins to make your totally unique Shift cowl, or pick up an armload and knit up a Shifty sweater! Fiber Fun All Across Summit
Summit has some wonderful, fiber-filled cultural offerings happening tonight and over the next several months!
First, Yarn (the movie) is playing tonight at at 7pm Mondo courtesy of the Summit Film Society. “Yarn” follows four artists as they blur the line between craft and art, bringing fibers onto the streets and into our lives. Additionally, a striking exhibit at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey called Painted Threads (detail pictured below) will be showing for the next handful of months. Good Things Come In Small Packages, Like These Wonderful New Needlepoint Canvases!
We have so many new needlepoint canvases at Wool & Grace, including some fabulous hand-painted canvases from small designers like Doolittle Stitchery and Bad Bitch Needlepoint.
Doolittle Stitchery brings us some travel ornaments from some of our favorite vacation spots, but little details like mopeds and dolphins jumping out of the water really make us swoon. Celebrate Sweata Weatha With Loopy Mango!
While Amy & Maya's "Sweata Weatha" SNL skit has been making the rounds on the internet, Oejong & Anna made a version of their own and it has us in stitches!
