Cuff Down Fingering Sock Class
Our resident sock expert is teaching another sock class this fall!
We designed this sock class so that you feel great about knitting a pair of shortie socks.
We don't want them to take forever to complete, and we want them to fit!
Our Cuff-Down Fingering Sock Class is a 3-part session for intermediate to advanced knitters ready to make their first pair of socks or improve their sock-knitting technique. We will follow the Weekend Shorty Socks by Summer Lee. Using a fingering weight yarn will help you get through this project, and we'll discuss how to get a great fit. Our first class will cover a Cast-on, sizing, and an overall view of the project. Our second class will cover the heel shaping. The third class will finish the sock.
Participants must have experience with small circumference knitting in round and should be familiar with standard increases and decreases.
You will have a choice of your method of circular knitting including double points, Flexi Flips, double circulars or magic loop. We suggest bamboo needles as they are a less slippery option.
The class cost is $84. Materials are purchased separately and yarn must be purchased from Wool & Grace for this class.
Materials include:
At least 400 yards of fingering weight yarn.
Recommended yarn
Spring Street by Northlight Fibers
Cascade Heritage Prints
Malabrigo Sock
Opal
Emma's Beautifully Basic
Watercolor Sock
Mechita
Cowgirl Blues Proper Sock
Needle size is variable, but we recommend a US1, or US2 -2.5mm needle to get a dense, tight fabric.
Depending on your method of circular knitting, you will need double points, a 32" circular needle (or longer) for magic loop, or Flexi Flips.
